1.20 Manguard Plus Irish EBF Maiden 1m

Cairo is taken to build on a decent maiden performance when second to Wave Machine over six furlongs here last month.

He came off the bridle relatively early on that occasion, and though he gradually got closer to the winner, he looked held for most of the final furlong until really putting his head down late on, and there was just a head between the pair at the line. He should learn plenty from that experience and the extra two furlongs also should suit him well.

Warrior Lion is a danger. He was also second on his debut, finding only Denmark too good at Naas. That winner could be very good, and Warrior Lion didn’t look to be given an overly hard time in behind him, though the third home, View Taken, disappointed on his next start at Roscommon. Our Boy Wes is also noted, having joined Emmet Mullins after finishing third on his second start for previous trainer John Kinsella at Leopardstown.

1.55 Newtownanner Stud Irish EBF Stakes (Group 3) 1m

Shelton is taken to continue improving for Paddy Twomey. She caught the eye when seventh in a maiden at this track on her debut and improved significantly from that to win a fillies’ race back here again last month.

She travelled well there before picking up smartly to put the race away late on. This is a step up in class, but she has the scope to keep improving for her trainer, who is enjoying an excellent season.

Maybe Just Maybe has the best form in the race courtesy of her fourth to Meditate in the Debutante over a furlong shorter here last week.

She shaped like today’s step up in trip should prove no problem and she is significant threat. Caroline Street won her maiden nicely at Leopardstown but this is a tough ask on just her second start.

Next best: Maybe Just Maybe

2.30 Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes (Group 3) 6f

Ocean Quest could be the answer to this Group 3. She did really well to finish third in the Ballyhane Stakes at Naas, especially considering it was only her second start and 126 days after she made her winning debut over five furlongs at this course. It was a good standard run but she now has plenty of scope to improve further.

She will need to if Treasure Trove is at her best because she sets a good standard here having won the Listed Roses Stakes at York last week, travelling sweetly through that five-furlong contest and doing it easily in the end. She moves up to six furlongs now which is a slight concern as to whether she will be as effective.

Apricot Twist deserves another chance. She was really impressive on her debut at Naas but could only manage ninth when sent off favorite for the Ballyhane. A return to quicker ground and more conventionally sized field could aid her today.

With no horse looking reasonably well handicapped in this trappy contest, it might be worth going with the top weight and least exposed King Of Bavaria. He was two out of two last season but failed to build on that when racing at listed level for his only two runs this term.

He wasn’t disgraced however, notably when fourth to New York City at Navan in April, and he has been given time since his previous run, which came at York in May, so could be a different proposition now, with his handicap mark eased to 101.

Yermanthere might give him most to do. He has good handicap form this season, notably finishing a two-length sixth to Lord Dudley in the Mallow Handicap at Cork.

3.40 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes (Group 3) 1m1f

Seisai will probably be favourite off the back of a career best run over this course and distance last time, but she might have a serious rival to deal with in Juncture.

Ger Lyons’s filly put up a promising effort on her previous run at Leopardstown, staying on steadily behind the useful Boundless Ocean, the pair pulling clear of a subsequent winner in Charterhouse. Juncture was returning off a mini break on that occasion and she could be cherry ripe now for a big autumn campaign.

Seisai is very consistent and found only Lily Pond too good in the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes here last month. She probably deserves to win a race like this and will be a tough nut to crack.

The Colm Quinn Mile winner Magic Chegaga looks up against it against these three-year-olds but has every chance of hitting the frame for the valuable blacktype her connections will be hoping for.

4.15 Paddy Power Supporting Cancer Trials Ireland Cambridgeshire (Premier Handicap) 1m

Jungle Cove has been thriving lately and might just be able to make it back-to-back wins in this race for Jessica Harrington. The five-year-old has prospered by racing off the pace behind a strong pace for both of his wins this season, the first coming in the valuable Nasrullah Handicap at Leopardstown, when given an inspired ride by 10lb claimer Dylan Kidd, and the latest when winning the Shergar Cup earlier this month for Emma Jayne Wilson.

This cavalry charge could well suit him again and though he has gone up in the weights, Kidd is back on to take off 10lbs which could be crucial.

Ado McGuinness runs six here and Sirjack Thomas may do the best of them. He ran well in the two big handicaps at Galway and he’s off a mark now from which he can win again - 1lb lower than when he took the Colm Quinn last season. He’s also a course-and-distance winner.

Celtic Crown is the other to note. Joe Murphy’s mare showed a really good attitude to win the Emerald Mile here earlier in the season and has likely been kept back for a crack at this, over the same course and distance. She was out of the handicap that day so is essentially only 4lbs higher in the weights today.

4.50 Bord Na Mona Recycling Apprentice Handicap 7f

San Aer can run well again and might just get his head in front in this handicap. He has sprung to life on both of his last two starts, finishing third at Leopardstown and fourth at Galway. Both of those efforts can be upgraded as he was slowly away at the former and had a nightmare draw at the latter. He remains on the same mark of 71 and should be thereabouts again.

Walking On Clouds is also interesting. Having won at Fairyhouse on his seasonal debut, he has finished fourth on all three of his starts since, but has gradually got closer to the winner. He has raced solely over six furlongs this season but he has form over seven furlongs and a mile, and that might just eke out a bit more improvement.

Next best: Walking On Clouds

5.25 DMG Media Nursery Handicap 7f

Palace Gardens is a tentative selection in this trappy nursery. She won a nursery already on her previous run which came at this course and interestingly, has since changed ownership and moved yards from Kevin Coleman to Ken Condon.

She stayed on well the last day so the step up in trip should be fine and that performance represented a significant improvement on her previous form.

Hasten Slowly is another to note, as she has gradually improved on three starts for Noel Meade. She got off the mark at Leopardstown last time out and a mark of 76 looks fair now for her handicap debut.
